Providing a full-service solution for electric and gas infrastructure investment planning under a consistent enterprise risk analysis framework

Copperleaf®, a global leader in decision analytics solutions, announces it has entered into a strategic alliance with Black & Veatch Management Consulting, LLC (“Black & Veatch Management Consulting”), the infrastructure-focused management consulting practice of Black & Veatch. The alliance combines Black & Veatch Management Consulting’s deep utility asset and infrastructure knowledge with Copperleaf’s value-based decision-making software solution, to support utilities in achieving their strategic goals related to reliability, resiliency, grid modernization, customer service, safety, and other important objectives.

Through this alliance, a one-stop asset investment planning solution will be available to utilities and other companies managing critical infrastructure. This solution provides a robust and highly repeatable decision-making process, leveraging the Copperleaf Value Framework and AI-powered optimization technology to inform mid- to long-term investment plans.

The Copperleaf Decision Analytics Solution leverages operational, financial, and asset data to help utilities make investment decisions that deliver the highest business value. Black & Veatch Management Consulting adds expertise in asset data risk scoring, costing, and impact analysis.

“Black & Veatch’s expertise in the full asset lifecycle and experience developing cost benefit analysis will result in a shorter implementation of Copperleaf’s solutions, enabling utilities to get up and running faster and make enterprise-level strategic decisions with the highest confidence,” said Garrett Sizer, Director of Strategic Alliances for Copperleaf. “This alliance will help utilities compare diverse projects with competing objectives on a common scale, ultimately, driving improved planning efficiency, higher value, and more justifiable investment plans.”

“We are excited to partner with Copperleaf to implement this combined solution for the global electric and gas utility industry. Together, we are now able to provide a powerful best practice solution that will effectively integrate and link data management with asset performance as a broader enterprise risk management solution. This will support a critical objective for many utility organizations,” said Joe Zhou, Associate Vice President of Black & Veatch Management Consulting and Business Leader for Infrastructure Modernization.
