Launching the Han HPR HPTC,HARTING is providing a high-performance, durable and easy-to-install transformer interface that is equally well suited for outdoor and indoor scenarios. The connector complies with all relevant railway standards such as vibration resistance and imperviousness to splash water and salt spray. Consequently, the interface is just as suitable for requirement profiles in the energy sector and particularly relevant for solutions for coastal locations of energy plants and infrastructure as well as the offshore sector.

The energy transition is in full swing and has found its way into all sectors and branches of industry. Numerous new technologies are being developed and confronting companies with the challenge of transmitting high currents safely and efficiently. With the Han HPR HPTC, HARTING is providing durable interfaces for high currents in energy applications - as simple, straight forward and as safe as conceivably possible. The design of the connectors is modular and suitable for use with both shielded and unshielded cables. The connectors are designed for operating voltages of up to 4.4 kV/1400 A and can withstand a wide range of environmental conditions worldwide. The system has been tested for stability against salt spray, mechanical influences such as stone impact, soiling and high humidity complyingwith protection class up to IP 68/69, thereby enabling long-term stable power transmission, e.g. between generators, converters, large batteries, fuel cells and transformers.

The Han®HPTC: powerful, durable, simple to install and safe to use.

The HPTCThanksto its outstanding robustness and durability, the product is fully in line with the ongoing sustainability trends, while savings at the same time, especially due to the low installation input required and maintenance-free operation. Installation involves no more than inserting the crimped contact into the housing and screwing the cover with seal onto the underside. Shrink tubes and taping? Not necessary.Tightening the cable gland is sufficient. Use of the interface is completely maintenance-free. Greasing, cleaning or further checks can all be dispensed with.

TheHPTC is available in the 400, 850 and 1400 A power classes and transmits significantly more energy than current standard solutions (up to 1250 A). Allin all, users benefit from connector weight and materials savings. Temperature development remains the same despite the higher energy density.

Convenient installation

The installation effort required for Han HPR HPTC is about half what comparable solutions necessitate. The reasons:

§  Essential components are delivered pre-installed. The contacts are integrated into the insulating bodies so that they are safe to touch, thereby preventing mistakes.

§  Individual components fulfil several functions: The cable gland protects against dust and moisture and is part of the shielding at the same time, absorbing residual currents and transferring them to the housing.

The Han®HPTC is suitable for both outdoor and indoor scenarios and has a higher energy density than comparable connectors.
