Rockwell Automation Japan Co., Ltd. a global leader in industrial automation and digital transformation, today announced that it will begin offering the Factory Test™ function of Emulate3D®, a 3D simulation software (hereinafter "Emulate3D Factory Test"), in the Japanese market.

Provision background
In Japan's manufacturing industry, the introduction of smart factories and digital twin technology is accelerating, and the recently released 10th report on the state of smart manufacturing revealed that Japan has the highest rate of investment in "digital twin, simulation and emulation" in the world.
"Emulate3D," which realizes virtual verification of manufacturing equipment and lines, has been receiving increasing inquiries in the Japanese market, but the need for integrated simulation and emulation of the entire factory is also increasing. In response to these market changes, Rockwell Automation has recently begun offering "Emulate3D Factory Test," which realizes high-fidelity digital twin and AI-driven simulation at the factory scale, in the Japanese market.
"Emulate3D Factory Test" was first unveiled at NVIDIA's annual event, "NVIDIA GTC 2025," held in the United States in March this year, and with its expansion into the Japanese market, it will now be possible to provide strong support to domestic customers in optimizing factory-wide processes, predicting manufacturing problems, and improving productivity and quality.
Key features of Emulate3D Factory Test
Emulate3D Factory Test uses a modular modeling approach to build and verify mechanical, electrical, control, process, robotic and device behavior models, and combines them into a single digital twin to model factory-scale environments with sufficient fidelity.
Multi-model orchestration: Synchronize multiple system models for factory-scale testing
DevOps workflow: Streamline version control, testing, and deployment, with all stakeholders working on the latest version and tracking changes in real time.
Test Runner: Enables automated, repetitive testing of large-scale production processes
Fault Framework: Evaluate system resilience by simulating fault scenarios in a virtual environment
Emulate3D Overview
Emulate3D, which realizes the digital design lifecycle, is software that can efficiently perform everything from the design stage to the verification of control logic by importing CAD (Computer Aided Design) data and connecting to PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). Through virtual verification of demonstration (model construction), simulation (virtual experiment), and emulation (operational testing and debugging using digital twin), it shortens development time, reduces problems, and improves quality.
Emulate3D supports virtual testing in a wide range of manufacturing industries, including process control (continuous processing such as oil, gas, chemical, metal, and water treatment), discrete control (assembly and transportation such as automobiles, tires, logistics, and warehousing), and hybrid control (mixed environments such as food, beverages, daily necessities, and pharmaceuticals).
