EnergyX, a prominent provider of IT platforms and energy efficiency technologies for sustainable architecture, showcased its commitment to energy efficiency and presented its innovative solutions at the "2023 at World Climate Industry Expo (Carbon Neutrality Expo)," which took place at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) over three days starting from last month's 25th.
With a growing emphasis on green buildings and sustainable architecture, there is a heightened interest in minimizing energy consumption by improving insulation and integrating renewable energy sources, such as solar power, into buildings. The government has also prioritized Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB) and is actively implementing ZEB in public small and medium-sized buildings and multi-unit housing ahead of the mandatory enforcement in the private sector by 2025. The development of green architecture has become a crucial element in achieving the country's carbon neutrality goal by 2050.
To gain further insights into sustainable architecture and EnergyX's approach to energy efficiency, I had the opportunity to speak with Lee Sung-wook, the team leader of EnergyX.
When asked about the specific offerings of EnergyX, Lee Sung-wook explained, "EnergyX provides a data-driven architectural platform and energy efficiency solutions based on IT and engineering technologies, encompassing everything from Zero Energy Building construction, commonly known as carbon-neutral buildings, to energy transition solutions such as ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) and RE100."
During the Climate Industry International Expo, EnergyX showcased products that contribute to the realization of carbon-neutral solutions in the complex architectural market through the use of IT technology. The company's comprehensive approach encompasses three key services:
- Architecture platform service that connects stakeholders in the construction industry and provides essential tools.
- Comprehensive energy efficiency service based on energy engineering technology for energy saving, production, and management.
- Smart logistics e-commerce service built on comprehensive manufacturing technology required for sustainable construction.
When discussing the significance of sustainable architecture in the construction market, Lee Sung-wook stated, "Sustainable architecture involves creating an ecosystem that connects building owners, architects, and construction companies by establishing an architectural platform that covers all aspects of construction."
Through the integration of EnergyX's three key services, a robust network can be established to address the challenges faced by the traditional market. This network accumulates valuable data, creating a virtuous cycle structure that attracts more customers, increases purchases, and generates additional data. EnergyX's ultimate goal is to build a sustainable architectural ecosystem.
Looking towards the future, EnergyX is actively adapting to the upcoming ZEB legal obligations that will be implemented in 2024 and 2025, aligning with government policies that set mandatory targets for ESG, RE100, and carbon neutrality. As a leading domestic provider of architectural platforms and energy efficiency technologies, EnergyX aims to spearhead the ZEB market and establish a sustainable architectural ecosystem.
The company has already commenced the construction of the first commercial Zero Energy Building in Hyangdong, Goyang City, with an anticipated completion date in June. Through this project, EnergyX is making significant strides towards becoming a prominent player not only in the domestic market but also in Europe, Japan, and other global markets, setting an exemplary benchmark for the ZEB ecosystem.
