Participating in the Carbon Neutrality Expo to deliver tangible value to customers through the development of eco-friendly and efficient appliances.

To achieve carbon neutrality, it is necessary to transition from coal energy to environmentally friendly energy and save energy by using efficient products. This applies to households as well. Therefore, appliance suppliers are implementing high efficiency in various appliances such as air conditioners and refrigerators through continuous research and development. Smart control methods are also being adopted to prevent energy loss, enhance convenience, and improve safety within homes.

During the "2023 World Climate Industry Expo (Carbon Neutrality Expo)" held at BEXCO (Busan Exhibition and Convention Center) from the 25th to the 27th of last month, LG Electronics participated and showcased a booth called "Net Zero House," indicating its intention to zeroize greenhouse gas emissions from materials and electronic products used in homes.

Let's hear more about the "Net Zero House," which aims to reduce carbon footprint and ultimately achieve carbon neutrality, through LG Electronics' representatives Min-joong Kang and D. Kim.

Q: LG Electronics' booth concept at the Climate Industry International Expo was impressive.

A: The booth concept, "Net Zero House," represents LG Electronics' 1st-grade appliances and air conditioning products exhibited in a way that they can produce energy by themselves, store it for use when needed, and thereby reduce carbon emissions. It is also a space where LG's pursuit of carbon neutrality can be realized, with the participation of LG Chem, LG Electronics, and LG Energy Solution in a joint booth.

LG Chem showcased eco-friendly materials under the branding "NET ZERO," while LG Energy Solution exhibited environmentally friendly electric batteries, delivering future-oriented technologies and products to the visitors.

Q: I heard that the "Eco-friendly System Boiler" uses electricity instead of gas to adapt to the carbon neutrality era. I know there are already overseas cases of application, but I'd like to hear more about its specific operation and energy-saving effects.

A: In general, gas boilers are commonly used for heating in households. However, the "Eco-friendly System Boiler" unveiled at the exhibition does not use fossil fuels like gas at all. It can provide heating, cooling, and hot water supply using electricity and air heat.

Moreover, it boasts high energy efficiency compared to gas boilers and maintains excellent heating performance even during cold winters. Especially, through the LG ThinQ app, product operation and control can be done anytime and anywhere.

Due to its high energy efficiency and eco-friendliness compared to gas boilers, it is gaining traction in overseas markets such as the United States and Europe. Consequently, it is considered to have significant growth potential in the domestic market as well.
